Real Living Hake Realty
Driving the local Real Estate market since 1915
Hake Realty has been marketing property in the Big Horn Basin since 1915, with our predecessor, Hake Agency starting in Worland, WY in the Farmer's State Bank building, which is now ANB Bank, selling real estate and insurance products.
In 1955, Hake Agency moved to 900 Big Horn Ave in Worland and after two generations of Hake's ran the business, it was purchased by Dee Benson in 1974 and the real estate business was separated from the insurance business.
In 1978 Hake Realty moved into our current location at 744 Big Horn Ave after remodeling the old service station to an office. In 1980, Hake Realty joined the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service network.
Dee Benson retired in 1987 and Hake Realty was purchased by his son and daughter-in-law Landis and Janet Benson.
In 1994 Hake Realty opened a second branch office in Ten Sleep. In 1999 GMAC bought Better Homes and Gardens and in 2010 Real Living merged with GMAC and took over the brand.
In October 2017, Nikki Donahue took over Responsible Broker duties and the company was purchased by Nikki and her husband James in May 2019, taking over the legacy of two generations of Hake's and two generations of Benson's.
In 2020 a third branch office was purchased in Thermopolis and remodeled to open for business in 2021.
